Northern Nevada Asthma and Food Allergy Parent Education Group Website!

Who are we?
The Asthma and Food Allergy Parent Education Group (AAPE) is a group of volunteer parents dedicated to learning how to help our children successfully live with asthma and/or food allergies. We are a non-profit, 501c(3), organization affiliated with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).

About our Website:
AAPE leadership chose to have a Wiki WetPaint website because it allows all our members to contribute and share information. It creates a true on-line food allergy and asthma community. The down side of WetPaint is that on each page there are advertisements that we cannot chose, delete, or control. We do not support or endorse any ads that appear on this site. We do not receive any money or financial benefit for these ads. In addition, please remember that everything on this website is added by members, who are parents, people like you and me, not experts. Please see our disclaimer below and make sure to seek professional medical care for all food allergy, asthma, or other medical issues.

What is AAPE up to now?
Check out our Calendar for upcoming events and meetings. On the What'sLatest NewAAPE News page, you can see a detailed description of the next meeting or event, learn about current projects, and see how you can get involved.

Our Group and its Leaders:
We have over 225 members in our email database. (Go to the Becoming a Member page to see how to join). We hold several meetings throughout the year that range in size from 5 people up to over 40, depending on the topic being discussed (Past Meeting Archives). We host kid events, many focused on holidays that pose food allergy challenges, like Easter and Halloween. To learn more see What Does AAPE Do?.

There are four core group leaders, Caroline, Luann, Sharon and Katie, all of whom are volunteer moms who deal with food allergy and/or asthma in their own homes. There are many other volunteers who assist greatly in event planning and group operations. If you have a special skill that would be helpful to our group, please let us know. Volunteers are always welcome.
