Has anyone read this article from England? http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7820081.stm There is new belief that adding a water softener may help eczema. Although, the article is from England and we don't know about elements in the water tested, but this seems to be food for thought... Do you find this valuable?

Hello. I've only joined this site because I saw your question and have an answer to it.

No, I haven't read that article, but a close friend of mine here in Reno did exactly that. She installed a water softener, I believe it was salt based, and her youngest son's skin, which was always dry, always itching, always thickening and uncomfortable, began to heal. His skin now looks and feels like other childrens skin. I haven't seen them for a couple of months, but I do know she was glad she installed the system for how much it has helped her son.

It does seem logical that removing any sort of irritants would be helpful. These systems are not inexpensive so your feedback is quite helpful! Do you find this valuable?

I will have to look up that article. We did get a water softener about a year ago, and our daughters eczema is better. Not gone. but she can wear shorts and tee shirts now, with out being embarrassed! Do you find this valuable?
